The Office of the President of the Republic has implemented "Prosperity Agreements" in each department and municipality of the country, as a strategy for strengthening the national, departmental and local governments in transparent territorial management. These Agreements were established as a mechanism for promoting citizen confidence in public institutions, and to generate a direct dialogue that will enable Ministers and officials to learn about community needs and to propose solutions for the social and economic development of our regions.
The Prosperity Agreements generate specific commitments that are assigned by the Presidential Council for the Regions to the responsible entities.
The Ministry of the Environment, Housing and Territorial Development (MAVDT) recognizes that these community agreements provide an opportunity to optimize its administration, making the response to local needs more efficient and transparent, and uniting the efforts of all to fulfill the commitments made.
The Ministry has institutionalized a dynamic process for monitoring the progress made in fulfilling the commitments assigned pursuant to said Agreements, which is periodically reported to the Office of the President of the Republic.
The Presidential Council for the Regions has recognized the work of the Ministry in modernizing the monitoring system.
The institutional portal presents statistics and a regional breakdown of the progress made on the commitments, in order to facilitate the review and monitoring of their status.
